The Polymer Self-Adhesive Root-Resistant Membrane For Green Roof Applications is a waterproofing system specifically designed to prevent root penetration in vegetated roofs. Its structure includes, release film on the bottom, then a self-adhesive bitumen layer that is root resistant. Then comes the core waterproofing membrane which also contains a top layer of self adhesive root resistant bitumen and crown film.

This advanced structure provides not only long-term durability and excellent UV resistance but also exceptional resistance to root puncture damage. The release films can be made from various materials including PE, PET, PVC, PP, PA, or silicone-coated release paper.

The core waterproofing membrane layer may include one of the following types:

Metal-based membranes (e.g., lead-tin-antimony alloy, composite copper core, copper foil, or aluminum base)
SBS or APP modified bitumen membranes with root-resistant additives
Polyethylene-reinforced polymer-modified bitumen membranes
Root-resistant polyethylene composite membranes
