2. Membrane Waterproofing Layer
PVC/PTPE membrane: This membrane is formed through hot-air welding to form a monolithic waterproof layer with excellent puncture resistance. It is suitable for roofs with equipment installations, with an installation cost of approximately 120-150 yuan/㎡.
Self-adhesive modified asphalt membrane: Easy to apply, but requires strict surface flatness, and adhesion performance degrades in low-temperature environments.
3. Structural Waterproofing Retrofit
For severely deformed roofs, first correct the keel and replace damaged panels, then apply a combination of waterproofing paint and waterproofing blanket.
Based on successful case studies in various locations, the following details should be considered for color-coated steel roof waterproofing:
1. Surface Preparation
Completely remove rusted areas and sand with a grinder to a cleanliness level of St3.
Fill joints and screws with polyurethane foam and then apply epoxy primer to enhance adhesion.

Waterproofing a color-coated steel roof is a systematic project, requiring a tailored solution tailored to the building environment, budget, and usage requirements. Compared with the emergency treatment of “fixing the leak wherever it occurs”, the three-stage strategy of scientific design in the early stage, standardized construction in the mid-term, and intelligent maintenance in the later stage can fundamentally solve the stubborn problem of leakage.
